Licence
Ready Steady Play and Ready Steady Babies operate in the same purposely planned building. Each having their own licence from the Ministry of Education, catering for 35 over 2 year olds (Ready Steady Play) and 24 under 2 year olds and 6 over 2 year olds (Ready Steady Babies).
The educators at Ready Steady Play are actively encouraged and challenged in their professional role. Regularly reflecting their own teaching practices, supporting each other, seeking and attending courses, updating and sharing knowledge and learning new skills.

History
Originally Ready Steady Play catered for a total of 35 children made up of two areas, one for under 2 year olds and another for over 2 year olds. However, as Educators we soon discovered this doesn’t provide an environment that allows for the difference in the children’s developmental stages, for example, a 6 month old baby and a 20 month old and likewise with a 2 year old and 4 year old. Recently in 2004 we were able to extend the building which has provided the opportunity of having four separate areas. They are as follows:
23 (younger) Over Twos 12 (older) Over Twos 12 (older) Babies and 6 over Twos 12 Babies Being able to operate four separate areas provides the opportunity to plan more effectively for the children’s individual needs. Making Ready Steady Play unique among other childcare providers and also promoting our vision of providing high quality care for babies and children.
